Jamaica Nice coasters are hand crafted at the renowned Alpha Institute in Kingston, Jamaica.

Each set of four wooden coasters is hand crafted from cedar and blue mahoe (Jamaica's national tree), in the woodshop at the Alpha Institute. With a bold grain and rich colour, our coasters make an eye-catching home base for cocktails, soft drinks and wine. Coasters are engraved on Alpha's campus and finished to highlight the tone and varied patterns that make each piece unique.

About the Alpha Institute

Founded in 1880, Alpha is operated by the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic order of nuns who sponsor vocational and academic training for at risk youth. Alpha is best known for its music programme which has produced jazz innovators, ska pioneers, reggae icons and even Grammy nominees. The Alpha woodshop is a training facility and social enterprise which helps to underwrite youth skills training.
